FEPE

is an international association representing 80 companies located around Europe who are directly or indirectly involved in the paper envelope manufacturing sector. These 80 companies are split 55 envelope manufacturing companies and 25 suppliers. It was established in 1957 with the aim to support the industry and its members. In 2007, it moved its office from Zurich to Brussels in order to more actively promote the industry in Europe.

The Association is governed by a Board of 13 directors who are nominated by the General Assembly. The Board is responsible for supervising and monitoring the implementation of the Association’s business plan. Each year, at its General Assembly, its members approve the functioning of the Board over the last year as well as reviews the proposed activities of the coming year.

Overviewing the sales of envelopes from 2004 to 2007 we can notice the fact that FEPE reprezents most of the envelope market.

Analyzing the chart on your right we you can see that in 2006 more than 40% of the envelopes were made by only 5 manufacturers.
This does not change in the year 2007, either.

The year 2007 brought a regrouping of the major powers in the envelope market. In 1999 it took 14 manufactureres to produce 80 bil. envelopes, but in 2007, due to recent alliances it only takes three!
